Connect Four is quick enough to play twenty rounds and deep enough that you’ll still lose one. Almost every loss comes from the same mistake: making a move that stacks a winning square for the other player directly on top.

How to play
- Take turns dropping a disc into any column that isn’t full. It falls to the lowest free slot.
- Four of your discs in a row wins — horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
- If the grid fills with no line, the game is a draw.

Get four in a row before your opponent does.
Tips that actually help
- Before you drop, look at the square directly above. If it completes their line, pick a different column.
- The centre column is part of more possible lines than any other. Take it early.
- Set up two threats at once. A single threat gets blocked; two can’t both be.
