🎲 Ludo
Ludo is the one everybody half-remembers from childhood, and the half most people forget is the part that makes it good: capturing. Getting four tokens around the board is easy. Getting them around while somebody keeps sending them back to base is the actual game.
- 2–4 players
- Head to head
- 2v2 team mode
- Bots available
How to play
- Everyone starts with four tokens in base. You need to roll a 6 to move one onto the board.
- Tokens travel clockwise around the shared track, then turn up their own colour’s home column.
- Land on a square holding a rival token and it goes back to base — unless that square is a star, which is safe.
- Rolling a 6, capturing a token, or bringing one home all earn you another roll. Three 6s in a row loses your turn.
- To finish, a token needs the exact roll to land on the last square. Overshoot and it stays put.
How you win
Get all four of your tokens home. In 2v2 you win together — once your four are home you can move your partner’s, and the team wins when all eight are in.
Tips that actually help
- Spread out. Four tokens bunched on one stretch of track is four tokens one bad roll away from disaster.
- Star squares are worth waiting for. Parking on one costs you a turn and saves you twenty.
- When you’re ahead, stop taking risks and start running for home. When you’re behind, chase captures — it’s the only thing that swings a losing position.
