🔤 Word Duel
Word Duel is a five-letter word race. Everybody gets the same answer and six guesses, and the first to solve it wins outright — so playing a safe, information-gathering guess when your opponent might be one move from solving is a real gamble.
- 2–4 players
- Head to head
- Bots available
How to play
- Guess a real five-letter word. Green means right letter, right place; yellow means right letter, wrong place; grey means it isn’t in the word.
- Repeated letters only show yellow as many times as they actually appear.
- Six guesses each. The first player to solve it wins immediately.
- If nobody solves it, whoever got closest takes the win.
How you win
Crack the word first.
Tips that actually help
- Open with a word packed with common letters — something like "crane" or "slate" — to rule a lot out at once.
- Yellow tells you two things: the letter is in, and it is not there. Move it somewhere new.
- If you’re behind, guess the answer you half-believe instead of playing safe. Second place scores nothing.
In-game summary
Everyone races to crack the same secret five-letter word. Guess a real word and each letter lights up: green in the right place, yellow in the word but somewhere else, grey not in it at all. You have six guesses. First to solve it wins, and if nobody does, whoever got closest takes it.
